We ask that any students that are out of town for the school year, or a volunteer that travels south for the winter months communicates it to our team. Your status will change to "Leave of Absence" and can resume upon your return.

Although volunteers do gain experience with patient interaction, Volunteer Services does not offer direct patient care roles, job shadowing, or internships for college credit. Volunteer shifts for most roles are normally 4 hours. There are some roles such as Volunteer Musician and Eucharistic Minister that may be shorter. We ask that all volunteers complete at least 2 shifts each month.

Yes. Although we try our best to match volunteers with a role to meet their skills, past experience, and interest, you are always welcome to discuss other opportunities in the hospital with your volunteer coordinator.
